Field Notes & False Starts: A Space for the Fully Humane

Welcome to Field Notes & False Starts—a publication dedicated to the whimsy, cross-cultural notes, slip-ups, sports, poetry, and deep philosophy of life.

This space was born out of my simple, rebellious desire: to create a landscape where life is not reduced into neat boxes or narrow margins. Selfishly, this is a sandbox to continually remind myself to break out of the subconscious bounds I’ve adopted over the years. Unselfishly, it is an invitation for you to do the same.

What I’m Excited to Explore Here

When you subscribe, you will be joining a shared trek across vast inner and outer landscapes. You can expect regular notes on:

  • Philosophy & Poetry: Excavating meaning from the quiet, unvarnished corners of daily life.

  • The Anatomy of Trial & Error: Honoring our slip-ups, false starts, and the messy mechanics of human growth.

  • Culture, Sport, Whimsy, etc: Observing the world with a curious, wide-angle lens.

The Philosophy of the Field

My anchoring truth for this publication is this: Yes, we are messy, but life's messiness does not negate the grace and elegance of the human spirit.

If you are ready to chime in, explore, and expand fully without shrinking who you are—and with infinite grace for the journey—I hope you’ll subscribe and come along.
